Åsa Kyrk Gere appointed Chair of ISO/TC 292 and secretariat allocated to SIS
At its september meeting, the ISO Technical Management Board (TMB) decided on the leadership of the new technical committee ISO/TC 292. Several countries had applied for this position but in the end it was decided to allocate the secretariat to the SIS, Swedish standards institute and to appoint Åsa Kyrk Gere as Chair for the term 2015-2010.
TMB has suggested a tentative title and scope for ISO/TC 292 but this will be discussed (and perhaps revised) during the start-up phase when the committee agrees on the organization and business plan for the work.
ISO/TC 292: SECURITY
Scope: Standardization in the field of security, including but not limited to general security management, business continuity management, resilience and emergency management, fraud countermeasures and controls, security services, homeland security.
Excluded: Sector specific security projects developed in other relevant ISO committees and standards developed in ISO/TC 262 and ISO/PC 278.
TMB has adviced the affected committees (ISO/TC 223, ISO/TC 247 and ISO/PC 284) to continue with ongoing projects as "business as usual".
