New ISO numbers

Three projects have recieved new ISO numbers following a consistent numbering system in ISO/TC 292. All these projects were launched in a previous committee which used random numbers for their publications.

Stefan Tangen, Convenor of the ISO/TC 292 Communication Group explains: Stefan Tangen

"Ever since the publication of ISO 9000, many committees have started to affiliate their standards with ISO numbers series so they will be easy to find and market. ISO/TC 292 was created from the merged of several committees working differently with ISO numbers. Consistency in our work has been identified as an important factor for the success of our standards. One step in this work is changing projects numbers".

Previously the numbers ISO 19564, ISO 19998, and 20229 have now been converted to:

ISO 22380 Security and resilience - Authenticity, integrity and trust for products and documents - General principles for product fraud risk

ISO 22381 Security and resilience - Authenticity, integrity and trust for products and documents - Guidelines for interoperability of product identification and authentication systems

ISO 22382 Security and resilience - Authenticity, integrity and trust for products and documents - Guidelines for the content, security and issuance of excise tax stamps
