United Nation Coordination Group
This coordination group has been established to explore opportunities within the area of disaster risk reduction and resilience, and supporting the implementation of various frameworks and programs developed by the United Nations.
The international development agenda committing Member States of the UN is a complex and comprehensive set of voluntary commitments to disaster risk reduction, sustainable development, climate change, financing, and safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities and other human settlements.
The relationship between the UN normative frameworks and the International Standards Organization is one that addresses specifically those commitments of member states to SDG Goal 17 which focuses on implementation of the overall 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. The key entry points for collaboration are set out in the SDG 17 targets related to finance, technology, capacity building, trade, and 'systemic issues' including multi-stakeholder partnerships.
The UN Coordination Group is co-chaired by the UN Economic Commission for Europe and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat).
