6th Plenary, Stavanger (7-12 October, 2018)

The 6th plenary meeting was held at the Clarion Hotel Energy in Stavanger, Norway in October 7-12, 2018. Almost 150 delegates representing 30 countries participated in the meeting.

Summary of important decisions

Resolution 161 (Stavanger, 2018)Report from and disbandment of Ad Hoc Group

ISO/TC 292 notes the reports from the groups below and thanks the convenors and experts for their work and hereby disbands the Ad Hoc Group on Justification Study for revision of ISO 28000 (based on Resolution 153).

Resolution 162 (Stavanger, 2018) Report from Task Force on scoping of security and resilience

ISO/TC 292 notes the report provided in document N652 and thanks the convenors and secretary for their work. The task force has an extended mandate to continue its work and report to the next ISO/TC 292 plenary.

Resolution 163 (Stavanger, 2018) Task to compile and report on output from strategic workshop

ISO/TC 292 requests the Secretariat, with the support of the representative from each workshop group, tocompile and report to ISO/TC 292 on the output from strategic workshop.

Resolution 164 (Stavanger, 2018) Information to WG 1 regarding altering definitions

ISO/TC 292 requests all Working Group convenors to inform the WG 1 convenor regarding the intention to alter a definition or note(s) published in ISO 22300 for appropriate resolution within ISO/TC 292.

Resolution 165 (Stavanger, 2018) Revision of ISO 22300 Security and resilience Vocabulary

ISO TC 292 agrees to revise ISO 22300 Security and resilience Vocabulary and allocate the revision to Working Group 1 Terminology on a 24 months development track and appoints Mr Kevin Knight as project leader.

Resolution 166 (Stavanger, 2018)  ISO 22301 for DIS ballot

ISO TC 292 agrees to progress ISO 22301 Security and resilience Business continuity management systems – Requirements for DIS ballot.

Resolution 167 (Stavanger, 2018) ISO 22313 for DIS ballot

ISO TC 292 agrees to progress ISO 22313 Security and resilience Business continuity management systems – Guidance for DIS ballot.

Resolution 168 (Stavanger, 2018) ISO 22396 for DIS ballot

ISO TC 292 agrees to progress ISO 22396 Security and resilience Guidelines for information exchange between organizations for DIS ballot.

Resolution 169 (Stavanger, 2018) Preliminary Work Item on Resource management

ISO TC 292 agrees to establish a Preliminary Work Item with the title Security and resilience Community resilience Resource management. ISO/TC 292 appoints Mr Moon-Kyum Kim, Republic of Korea, as the project leader for the PWI.

Resolution 170 (Stavanger, 2018) Preliminary Work Item on Emergency management framework

ISO TC 292 agrees to establish a Preliminary Work Item with the title Security and resilience Emergency management Framework and appoints Ms Irina Oltyan, Russian Federation, as the project leader for the PWI.

Resolution 171 (Stavanger, 2018) Liaison expert to ISO/TC 262/WG 8 Managing emerging risks and possible JWG

ISO/TC 292 appoints Mr Brian Roylett, Australia, as liaison expert to ISO/TC 262/WG 8 Managing emerging risks and requests its secretariat to explore the option of establishing a Joint Working Group.

Resolution 172 (Stavanger, 2018) Liaison expert to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27/WG 4 Security controls and services and possible JWG

ISO/TC 292 note the proposed revision of ISO 27031 Information technology - Security techniques - Guidelines for information and communication technology readiness for business continuity and request its secretariat to issue a call for expert liaisons to participate in ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27/WG 4 and to explore the option of establishing a Joint Working Group.

Resolution 173 (Stavanger, 2018) Liaison to ISO/TC 211 Geographic information/Geomatics

ISO/TC 292 agrees to establish an internal liaison with ISO/TC 211 Geographic information/Geomatics.

Resolution 174 (Stavanger, 2018) Support for the Communication Group

ISO/TC 292 requests proposers of new standardization projects and project leaders

- to support the communication group in drafting information material on their project

- to identify channels for sending this information.

Resolution 175 (Stavanger, 2018) Future plenary meeting arrangements

ISO/TC 292 agrees that the next plenary meetings will be held:
